Moray Eel - sketches

The start of a project I'm doing.
Stolen from =bladebandit, the idea to make a list of 100 animals, and draw each and every one in turn. I haven't posted it in a journal yet because the list isn't finished (I'm on 74) but I felt like drawing.
These here are moray eels. I've always been fascinated with them, and I've discovered a neat little nugget of information while searching for references. Did you know that moray eels have a "second jaw"? When the jaw is not in use (not eating or catching prey) the second jaw lays way down in its throat. When it is using it's jaw, the muscles pull it into it's mouth, so it can use it. Weird, huh? There's a good example right here. [link]
