You Are Golden - ACEO Trade by LuxDani You Are Golden - ACEO Trade by LuxDani
Here is my half of an ACEO trade with :iconkamakru:!
Look at her pretty piece here : Diving for Betta Fish by Kamakru
I can't even describe how badly her piece makes me want to head south. Killer cold snap, screw you Canada

She gave me tons of freedom, which I love, so I couldn't resist painting a tiger. I used a mixture of India ink, watercolours, and golden ink on a linen canvas ACEO blank. I just got a ton more in the mail from winning a contest, so hopefully more soon!

Enjoy!

Well this is the most incredible, most beautiful and original ACEO I've ever seen in my whole life! Just absolutely gorgeous, perfect! Great job! I'm absolutely jealous on the person who got this ACEO xD Keep up the amazing work, dear

Ahh thank you! That is so sweet of you to say! ACEOs are a nice break, they're fun and small, and a great way to practice new styles.

That's exactly my opinion on them! :D Although I'm not (not even close) as good as you, so I'm usually terrified, wether the future owner will like the ACEO or not xD

Great tiger card! I love the expressive line work of the fur.

I hope you sealed the surface because watercolours can rub off the canvas blank [the white primer is usually acrylic based gesso]. Watercolours work on paper because the gum arabic in the paints bind to the cellulose in the paper on the molecular level. Watercollours can sit on top of the canvas primer but not bind chemically. I tend to cheat and thin down acrylic paint and use it like watercolours since thinned acrylic paints have the same chemical properties with acrylic binding to acrylic. ☺

Well thank you for that little spot of knowledge! I haven't sealed it yet but now I definitely will before I mail it off. Thank you! =D

I had a chemistry of paint class at art school. ☺ It was dumbed down chemistry, but I know SO MUCH about paint molecules now!  L☺L

That is actually freaking awesome! I'm a total chemistry nut, and mix it with art? Awesome combo! I'll have to see if there is a similar class offered at my university.

Columbia had to figure out how to make art students take chemistry. So I got this Japanese fashion major who ditched 90% of the classes as a lab partner. She was texting or sleeping the times she came to class, which was, like, TWO. One time, she asked me for my notes from the prior class, and that was a big no. I have no idea how she is going to get a degree. Probably was not trying to get a degree, school was just an excuse to be in the USA and party rock. :3

Ugh those people are the worst. I'm a science student, mostly biology and chemistry so I've had my fair share of work, and folks like that are exactly why I like to work alone.

Totally ♥ to work alone. :D Because I get the "work" part done. Also, had a scary revelation that a lot of my classmates struggled with basic sentence structure, let alone complex thought. 8p It was sad. I learned that not all college educations are created equal.

Exactly! I like working alone because I know the work will get done, and done to my satisfaction. Its brutal having to share the workload, only to find out on the day it was due that your partner didn't pull their weight and now your mark suffers. Grr.
