So I love to plan projects. Whether or not I actually complete (or even start) said project is a different story, but points for trying, right?
Anyway, suddenly I have a fire under my ass to complete a project that involves an animal for every letter of the alphabet. Original, I know.
But despite the lack of originality, this is something I would like to do. I'm going to focus on the anatomical side of things, so maybe that will make it a bit more unique. I'm going to be having 20+ hours on a plane later this week (and that's only to my destination, on the way back we have a 17hour flight, plus two more shorter ones), so I'd like some art to keep me busy.
It will be done with ink, not sure if I'll add colour yet. Probably not.

So here is where you amazing folks come in. I already have a temporary list for the animals I'd like, but I'm not dead-set. These were more or less the first ones that came to mind, so I'm looking to you creative sparks of light to help me.

For my first series I've decided to illustrate "Odd Mammals". Odd can mean rare, or just weird or interesting. Mammals that most people haven't heard of. I'm trying to stay away from cryptic species, or species that belong to a hugely speciose genus. Sometimes it can't be avoided, but hey, I'm trying my best.

So here is my list, and if anyone has any suggestions for any of the letters please let me know!!

(Depending on how this project goes, my next list will be featuring Extinct mammals. Already started, but many blank spaces on that one).

Odd Mammals

A - aardvark,
B - babirusa, binturong
C - Capybara, colugo
D - dugong
E - echidna, (black and rufous) elephant shrew
F - fossa
G - giant anteater
H - Honduran white bat
I - indri
J - jaguarundi,
K - klipspringer, kinkajou
L - leopard seal
M - mouse-deer, Mara
N - narwhal, naked mole rat, numbat
O - okapi
P - pangolin, pink fairy armadillo
Q - quokka
R - raccoon dog,
S - silky anteater, saiga, spotted bat
T - Tasmanian Devil, tree shrew, tamandua
U -
V - vicuña
W - wombat
X - Xoloitzcuintli
Y - yellow mongoose
Z - zebu

Thanks!
