So someone bought one of my paintings last year, we were doing a 3 month payment plan. They paid two months consecutively (so 2/3 of the total payment), and they disappeared off the face of the Earth...

Whhhat do I do?
I've tried contacting them several times and no response
They've paid $400/$600 already, I've had the painting sitting in a box for mailing for almost 6 months now..
So weird

Hold onto the money and the painting. Since they are a on older customer i would think they are going through a tough time and there would be no point in trying to scam you this time, after all, you don't pay 400$ to then go away and forget about it. I wouldn't refund the money and then sell the painting or don't make a refund at all and sell it anyway to someone else just yet; as other people before me said, wait at least 12 months before making a decision. While this is unpleasant, i think you should put the money and the painting aside as if they never existed until you manage to contact the customer, or they contact you. Hope this works out!
